The original doorbell installation was a new construction install which included two doorbells, 23 gauge wiring, an analog doorbell chime and an 16VAC/10VA transformer. Adding the SS video doorbells to that setup worked for several months before the doorbell chime kept buzzing. FYI - I have a Heath-Zenith 74BASE digital chime with a 16VAC 10 Watt transformer. Previous door bell button had a diode across the terminals (per the manual), but doing that with the SimpliSafe doorbell didn't work.
